Today is the 7th day of wearing my black linen dress. It's honestly been no fuss! I've washed it twice in the past seven days (tonight being the second) and I've had no issues with the dress in terms of wrinkling or discomfort.
In this photo, you'll see my new handbag. It's from a local company here in Colorado called Winter Session. I went down to Denver to meet the fine folks of Winter Session and see their workshop space.
I'm excited to share more about their approach to the slow-movement and creating hand built durable products. In the next week, I'll be showcasing some of my favorite slow fashion brands and companies that are leading the way in durable, functional, beautiful creations.
I'm a huge believer in buying better - once. In the end, this is a greater money saver than the disposable mentality that we've created for both our material belongings and our textiles. When I think back at all the purchases I've made (especially when it comes to clothing), I realize that I could have just waited and saved a little longer to buy something that would last, rather than buying something cheap and having to repurchase over and over again. When that happened, I ended spending more than if I had just bought the better alternative from the beginning. Live and learn.
